Scaling Guide

Audience: Administrators, Developers.

This document describes how to scale Sitecore CMS solutions by configuring multiple instances in one or more environments, such as, Content Management (CM) and Content Delivery (CD) environments. There is also a description of some alternative configurations that could be implemented to meet certain infrastructure and security requirements.

The information in this manual applies to Sitecore CMS 6.6.

The information in this manual applies to Sitecore CMS 6.5.

The information in this manual applies to Sitecore CMS 6.3 and 6.4.

Important:

The information about SQL Server replication in these manuals is no longer applicable.
Sitecore does not recommend using replication on new implementations, except in the scenarios described in this article about SQL Server scaling features

Sitecore will continue to support customers who currently use replication per the instructions provided by this guide, and in accordance with the Product Support Lifecycle and the Scope of Services
