Description:

CMS versions that support IE9

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 is currently supported by the following CMS releases:

  • CMS 6.4.1 Update-5 (rev. 111003)
  • CMS 6.5 Update-2 (rev. 111123)

Known issues:

  • [Resolved in 6.5.0 Update-4] To use the Page Editor, Preview or Sitecore Debugger in IE9, you must enable Compatibility View mode in Internet Explorer. (341909, 347176, 349492, 348382)
  • The Page Editor does not support the inline Content Editor when using IE9. Instead, the Content Editor will open in a pop-up window when a user clicks the "Edit" button in the ribbon or the "Edit the related item" command in the floating toolbar, just as if the WebEdit.UserPopupContentEditor setting was set to true. (357963) 
  • The Rich Text Editor does not allow using HTML 5 tags when editing Rich Text fields. (362578)
  • When using the Japanese client language in IE9, the font size in the Sitecore clients will be smaller than in IE8 and IE7. (353224)
  • The Keyboard Map application does not show the key code when pressing a key. (353144)
  • The Database Usage window partially hides the contents of the window. (353160)
  • In the Properties dialog in the Content Editor, the ID of the current item is partially hidden. (353146)  

CMS versions that do not support IE9

Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 is currently not supported by the following CMS releases:

  • CMS 6.4.1 Update-4 and earlier CMS releases

Most of Sitecore user interfaces are however expected to work correctly when running IE9 in Compatibility View mode.
